Artist in Residence Guided Interpretive Hike

Apologies, Friends! We were optimistic about this one. However, BLM decided to cancel this and the associated remaining Artist-in-Residence activities and schedule them for a time when Sloan is fully staffed again. Keep an eye out for the new dates! Needless to say, we're eager for interpretive and stewardship activities to resume. Hopefully soon!

Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area will offer an artist guided hike on a round-trip portion of the Sloan Trail 100. The Sloan Ranger and Nanci from the Sloan Canyon Artist in Residence Program will lead the two mile hike teaching participants the artistic basics of how to sketch desert scenery with pencils. Sketch equipment will be provided. Reservations are limited to the first 18 visitors.

We're entering a special management area in the McCullough Wilderness, so apologies but no dogs or other domesticated animals are allowed on this excursion. For more information email Ranger Gina Mele at gmele@blm.gov or call 702-515-5355.
