Desert Bighorn Sheep Walk

Climb from Hidden Valley into the McCullough Hills to explore for signs of Desert Bighorn Sheep. This is a intermediate/advanced hike in a sandy wash and steep hillsides along the 300 trail. To participate you MUST RSVP with BLM Ranger Jim Flook at dflook@blm.gov or call 702-515-5352.

We're entering a special management area in the McCullough Wilderness, so apologies but no dogs or other domesticated animals are allowed on this excursion.

You will need a high clearance vehicle with 4 wheel drive. Carpooling is encouraged. If you don't have a 4wd vehicle but would still like to attend check with Ranger Flook about the possibility of riding with someone.

Length: 4.5 miles round trip
Difficulty: Moderate/Strenuous

Recommended Gear: Closed-toe shoes, 2 liters or 64 ounces of water, sunglasses, sunscreen, hats, snack and a day pack.
