Desert Bighorn Sheep Walk

Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area will offer a hike in the North McCullough Wilderness to search for Bighorn Sheep. We're departing no later than 8:35 a.m. Follow the ranger to Hidden Valley, hike for 2 hours, follow the ranger back to the M Casino. RSVP with the BLM ranger is required to paticipate

We're entering a special management area in the McCullough Wilderness, so apologies but no dogs or other domesticated animals are allowed on this excursion.

You will need a high clearance vehicle with 4 wheel drive. Carpooling is encouraged. If you don't have a 4wd vehicle but would still like to attend check with Ranger Flook about the possibility of riding with someone.

Length: 4 miles round trip 
Difficulty: Moderate/Strenuous

Hiking Terrain: Sandy wash, elevation gain (upright walking) through rocky terrain. 
Recommended Gear: Closed-toe shoes, 2 liters or 64 ounces of water, sunglasses, sunscreen, hats, snack and a day pack.
