Desert Bighorn Sheep Walk

Climb from Hidden Valley into the McCullough Hills to explore for signs of Desert Bighorn Sheep. This is a intermediate/advanced hike in a sandy wash and steep hillsides along the 300 trail. Participation for this is being capped at 10 people. To participate you MUST RSVP with BLM Ranger Jim Flook at or call 702-515-5352.

We're entering a special management area in the McCullough Wilderness, so apologies but no dogs or other domesticated animals are allowed on this excursion.

You will need a high clearance vehicle with 4 wheel drive. Carpooling is encouraged. If you don't have a 4wd vehicle but would still like to attend check with Ranger Flook about the possibility of riding with someone.

Length: 4.5 miles round trip
Difficulty: Moderate/Strenuous

Recommended Gear: Closed-toe shoes, 2 liters or 64 ounces of water, sunglasses, sunscreen, hats, snack and a day pack.
