We're continuing our project replacing old trail posts and and installing new ones along Sloan's entire trail system. These new, larger 3-sided posts will replace older and smaller posts and extend into currently unsigned areas. Having clear directional posts in this area is crucial in keeping hikers from wandering off-trail onto the many washes and alert OHV drivers they're approaching the Sloan Canyon NCA boundary so they can steer away back into non-NCA territory.
We'll meetup at the McCullough Hills Trailhead, team up and proceed to nearby trail sections. With shovels, picks and other tools we'll dig holes at pre-determined spots and bury/anchor the trail posts in place. Protective gear and water will be provided. Bring sturdy closed-toed shoes, long-sleeved clothing, a snack, and a water bottle. If you can use a shovel you can make a difference in helping to maintain Sloan's trail system!
