Join us as we continue our project resigning Sloan's trail system. We're completing the trail we started on National Public Lands Day installing new trail posts along the 601 trail. These new, larger 3-sided posts will replace older and smaller posts and extend into currently unsigned areas. Having clear directional posts in this area is crucial in keeping hikers from wandering off-trail onto the many washes and legacy OHV tracks in the area. With shovels and other digging tools we'll dig holes at pre-determined spots and bury/anchor the posts in place.
The 601 trail is a 7 mile loop on easy terrain, if you're comfortable hiking to the far end and back with a large tool this is the gig for you. We'll bring the posts, tools, protective gear, and water for refills. You bring sturdy closed-toed shoes, long-sleeved clothing, a snack, and a water bottle or two.
