Henderson resident Alan O'Neill has released an excellent guide to the city's almost 120 miles of hiking and biking trails. It's available as a PDF download.
If you don't know Alan, calling him an enthusiast of the outdoors and the natural world might be a bit of an understatement. He spent his professional life working for the National Park Service, including a period as the Superintendent of Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Since retiring Alan has been heavily involved with So Nevada's conservation and recreation community, working on the board or in planning groups for organizations such as Outside Las Vegas Foundation, Lower Colorado River Water Trail Alliance, Protectors of Tule Springs and here at Friends of Sloan Canyon.
